Have you looked at your tongue lately?

Wonder why the doctor always tell you to stick your tongue out? Your doctor looks for abnormalities in its texture, color and motility (the way you move your tongue) that may indicate a problem. Eastern medical philosophy has always been using this method to diagnose general conditions within the human body. The Chinese, for instance, developed a method of analyzing the tongue after noticing that the colorings and texture showed on people's tongues matched conditions they were experiencing elsewhere in their bodies. For example, someone with a poor circulation and suffering from varicose veins would show a purple tongue with black spots. By analyzing your own tongue you can learn a lot about your body. Maybe you heard that when people are doing the Master Cleanse, their tongues turn black or get a thick white coat on it... your body uses the tongue to get rid of all your waste products.

How does the perfect tongue look like?

Ideally your tongue should be pink, smooth, not too thick or too thin and has a light coating of saliva. There should be NO indentations, discolorations, spots, marks or sensitive points. The texture should be smooth and fleshy and it should also be able to move freely.

Most people get a yellow or white "gross coating" on its surface on a daily basis. Your job is to brush and scrape your tongue at least twice a day. Most importantly in the morning, since your body's waste needs to be removed from your tongue after a night of sleeping. If you are not doing it already, well, then its time to get started. Do you know that NOT brushing or flossing your teeth is a cause for many cancers. Think about it -- your tongue is detoxing and you swallow it back down again.. that is just awful and unacceptable to keep a healthy body.
