Meditation - how to reduce your stress level as a busy mom.

As a busy mom or during your pregnancy, we recommend that you meditate for just a few minutes a day. By meditation we mean turning your phone and TV off and try to be completely undisturbed. Listen to your favorite song or just listen to the silence, right before bedtime is a great opportunity. Take these few minutes to focus on nothing but yourself. Let your mind slip away to a place where you are completely relaxed and stress free. It might take you a while to learn how to shut off the "real world", but the reward is amazing.

Meditation has been used for thousands of years in the East as a means of relaxing and enjoying quiet contemplation. The exercises are designed to allow the individual to create a mental environment divorced from the external influences and stresses of their physical and emotional life, and the demands of the day-to-day living. The need to rely upon stimulants such as alcohol in order to relax after a hectic day takes its toll on your body. Remember that a glass of wine is a big sugar-shock for your body and should be avoided late at night. Meditation on the other hand enriches the body while relaxing it at the same time. The practice of meditation has been clinically shown to not only reduce cholesterol but to bring down high blood pressure as well as improving the general well-being of people suffering from conditions such as chronic stress, headaches, acidity, emotional vulnerability, skin irritations and insomnia. There are various types of meditation and in fact we meditate almost naturally every day without thinking about it, for example when we daydream. Daydreaming is uncontrolled so by adding meditation in our lives we can control our minds and improve its health and longevity.

During the BeachFit Moms class we are ending the workout with meditation, this is a great opportunity for you to leave any stress, anxiety or worries in the room, leaving the class with a much happier mindset and a sense of completion.
